Final Round Results of the 3rd Carolinas Net Amateur Championship
PINEHURST, NC – Final results from the 3rd Carolinas Net Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Pinehurst Country Club (No. 5) in Pinehurst, NC on Sunday, November 24, 2013 (Men Division: 6321 yards, par 36-36—72, 70.7/127; Senior Men Division: 5871 yards, par 36-36—72, 68.5/121; Womens Divisions: 5248 yards, par 36-36—72, 70.3/121).
On a blustery and cold day in Pinehurst champions were crowned in four net divisions (Men, Senior Men, Women, and Senior Women).
Brandon Britt of Benson, NC carded a one-under two-day total of 143 to win the Men’s Division title by two shots over a trio of players.
Maggie Collins of Greensboro, NC posted a two-over total of 146 to claim the Women’s division crown by 6 shots.
Jim Steed of Sunset Beach, NC successfully defended his 2012 title in comeback fashion by firing an eight-under two-day total of 136 to win the Senior Men’s division a single stroke
Co-champions were declared in the Senior Women’s division. Linda Boland of Summerville, SC and Rita Roberts of Southern Pines, NC each posted a nine-over total of 153 to share the title.
The Carolinas Net Amateur Championship is played at 36 holes of net stroke play using 100% of player’s course handicaps.
