SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (August 5, 2020) -- The Carolinas side is set for 38th playing of the Carolinas-Virginias Junior Team Matches at the Country Club of North Carolina’s Dogwood Course in Pinehurst, N.C. This is the 11th time CNCC has hosted these historic junior matches pitting the best junior boys golfers from North and South Carolina against their Virginia and West Virginia counterparts. The championship consists of four foursomes matches, four four-ball matches and eight singles matches.

Since its inception in 1963, CCNC has continuously shown their dedication to the future growth of our game through hosting countless major junior and amateur events. CCNC is set to host the 2021 U.S. Junior Amateur next July; the third USGA Championship in the course’s history (1980 U.S. Amateur, 2010 U.S. Girls’ Junior).

The Carolinas Junior Team is selected from the winners of the junior championships in North and South Carolina and the remaining spots are filled by captain’s picks that are based on the players’ performances in select junior tournaments.

The Carolinas Junior Team leads all-time in the matches, 19-16-2. Of the 10 previous playings of these matches at CCNC, the Carolinas Junior Team has won eight times on home soil.
