47th Twin States Junior Girls Championship Set for July 30-31 at Mimosa Hills

WEST END, NC -- The Carolinas Golf Association's 47th Twin States Junior Girls Championship will take place on July 30-31 at the Mimosa Hills Country Club in Morganton, NC.

The championship is contested at 36 holes of stroke play. The sub-junior division is conducted at 18-holes (9 holes each day) of stroke play. The championship division is made up of any girl 13 years of age or older regardless of handicap. The sub-junior division will be made of any girl 12 years of age or younger regardless of handicap. Sub-junior players may opt to play in Junior Division (18 holes).

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has not reached her 19th birthday by July 31, 2012, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current USGA handicap index® at a CGA member club that does not exceed 40.4.

Located in Morganton, NC, Mimosa Hills is a stunning 1929 Donald Ross original that has been the host of 12 major amateur championships in the Carolinas, including the 1940 & 1963 Carolinas Amateur; the 1985, 1986 & 1996 North Carolina Amateur; and the 1964 Carolinas Junior.  It was the home club of the famed Billy Joe Patton.
