Ten Players Punch Their Ticket to 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur Including Three From the Carolinas

NC – Final results of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship Sectional
Qualifying held at Sapona Ridge Country Club on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Par 35-36—71 6323 yards (77.2/143).
Ten players have punched their ticket to the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship which will be held on August 4-10, 2014 at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, NY. Carly Ray Goldstein of Coral Springs, FL fired the only sub-par round of the tournament after shooting a one-under par round of 70. The cut line fell at one-over 72.
Three players from around the Carolinas also qualified. Emily Brooks of Chapel Hill, NC; Lauren Stephenson of Lexington, NC and recent Carolinas (CGA) Women’s Amateur Champion, Katie Kirk of Davidson, NC.
Others who will also be traveling to New York include Mary Superal of the Philippines; sisters Mariana and Sierra Sims of Austin TX; Rinko Mitsunaga of Roswell, GA; Yunji Zhang of China and Vivian Tsui of Canada.
After a seven way tie at 73 and a 3 hole sudden death playoff Clara Teixeira of Brazil earned the first alternate position over Mary Chandler Bryan of Chapin, SC.
