Defending champion Inman wins first two matches, medalist Watson falls in first round

Roaring Gap, NC--Defending Champion Austin Inman of Wilmington, NC survived an early scare in the first round defeating Blake Wagoner of Cornelius, NC on the 19 hole in the 47th NC Junior Boys’ Championship at Roaring Gap Club in Roaring Gap, NC. Medalist Chance Watson of Newland, NC was not as lucky and was defeated by Harrison Frye of High Point, NC 1 up in the their first round match. Frye advanced in an early morning playoff for the last two spots in the match field of 64 players. Inman, a recent high school graduate, wasted little time in the afternoon’s second round match and advanced to the round of 16 defeating Jordan Vogler of Pilot Mountain, NC, 5 and 4.
The round of 16 begins Thursday morning at 8:00 am off the first tee. This annual junior championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
