Moosa Moves to Top at Carolinas Girls'

Moosa Moves to Top of Leader Board at 59th Carolinas Junior Girls' Championship
Charlotte junior shoots even par 72; leads by two after round one

Rock Hill, SC--Charlotte, NC native Madison Moosa sits atop of the leader board after 18 holes in the 59th Carolinas Junior Girls' Championship.  Moosa, a rising high school junior, shot a round of even par 72 on the AW Tillinghast designed golf course at Rock Hill CC in Rock Hill, SC and has a two shot lead heading into Wednesday's second round.  Moosa started the round birding two of her first three holes and another birdie on the par five seventh hole moved her to three under par but back to back bogeys on holes eight and nine slowed her hot round down.  One birdie and two bogeys on the back side finished off the round of 72.

CGA Twin States champion Kathleen Sumner of Charleston, SC is tied for second at two over par 74 with Rachel Kuehn of Asheville, NC and Sarah Spicer of Bahama, NC.  Tied for fifth place with rounds of 75 are 2014 CGA Dogwood State Junior champion Callista Rice of Mars Hill, NC, Jalen Castle of West Columbia, SC and Rock Hill CC member Jodee Tindal of Rock Hill, SC.  Defending champion Jessica Spicer of Bahama, NC struggled in her first round and sits eight shots back after a round of 80.  In the sub-junior division, Mary Talledo of Blythewood, SC leads Camille Oliver of Cary, NC by 9 shots after their first of three nine hole rounds.
