NEWTON, N.C. -- Final results of the 38th Carolinas Women's Four-Ball Championship conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association at Catawba Country Club in Newton, N.C. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 (5900 yards, Par 36-36--72, Course Rating: 74.4/132).

Overcoming a three-shot deficit, Courtney McKim of Raleigh, N.C. and Stephanie Pribonic of Wake Forest, N.C. posted the round of the day, four-under 68. Their two-day total of seven-under 137 was enough for a one shot victory.

"We thought we had to shoot about eight-under today to win," said McKim. "With six or seven holes left, we asked one of the rules officials and found out we were close."

After carding a first round 66, leaders Jaelyn Tindal of Rock Hill, S.C. and Maddisen Cox of Easley, S.C. had a disappointing day, making three bogeys en route to a two-over 74. They finished tied for sixth place.

This is the first CGA championship for both 24-year-old McKim, who played collegiate golf at the University of Alabama, and 20-year-old Pribonic, who is a rising senior on NC State's golf team.

Two teams tied for second at 6-under 138, sisters Lily and Grace Yatawara of Salisbury, N.C.; and Rachel Jones of Asheboro, N.C. and Alexis Kershaw of Winston-Salem, N.C.

Defending champions Hayley Hammond of Mooresville, N.C. and Lea Venable of Simpsonville, N.C. finished in tenth place at at two-under 142.

Chandler Case of Rock Hill, S.C. recorded her first hole-in-one on the 152 yard par-3 17th.

In the tournament division, Becca McKinney of Raleigh, N.C. and Jo Ann Sluder of Pinehurst, N.C. with a two-day total of even par 144. This division plays a shorter course.

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has reached her 13th birthday by August 4, 2015, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.
