In last year's championship hosted by Governors Club, Pat Brogden of Garner, N.C. completed a wire-to-wire win for her fourth Carolinas Women’s Senior Amateur trophy. Dr. Angela Stewart of Greenville, N.C. finished in second, two-shots back. Stewart missed a four-foot par putt on the final hole that could have forced a playoff.

Earlier this month, Stewart earned medalist honors at a qualifier for the 2015 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur. Brogden is an alternate.

86 players, including those mentioned above in last year's final round theatrics, are expected to compete in this year's championship.

Other notable players in the field:

  • Patty Moore of Charlotte, N.C. - seven-time Carolinas Women's Senior champ, 17-time overall CGA champion.

  • Kim Briele of New Bern, N.C. - 2015 North Carolina Women's Senior champion.

  • Lea Anne Brown of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. - 2015 Women's South Carolina Senior champ, 2004 Carolinas Women's Amateur champion.

This will be the first CGA championship contested at Hendersonville Country Club. One of Donald Ross' signature jewels, Hendersonville Country Club is home to a par 70, 18-Hole course. Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Hendersonville Country Club is one of the best private clubs, not only in the mountains of Western North Carolina, but also throughout the entire Southeast.

The championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play (no cut). All players, regardless of Handicap Index, have the option to play in the "Championship Division" or the "Tournament Division".

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has reached her 50th birthday by September 21, 2015, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has an active GHIN USGA Handicap Index at a CGA member club that does not exceed 40.4.

Defending Champions:
Senior Champion: Pat Brogden of Garner, N.C.
Super Senior Champion: Peggy Yountz of Denver, N.C.
