Carolinas Interclub Playoff Bracket Announced

WEST END, N.C. – The Carolinas Golf Association has announced the 33 team bracket for this year's Carolinas Interclub Championship playoffs.

Pine Brook Country Club of Winston-Salem, NC and Chapel Hill Country Club of Chapel Hill, NC will kick-off the playoffs with a play-in match.

River Hills Country Club of Lake Wylie, SC looks to defend its title won last year at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC when they outlasted nearby Fort Mill Golf Club of Fort Mill, SC, 29-19. River Hills is looking for its fourth title since 1997.

Interclub playoff matches are single elimination with 12 players on each team competing for 36 match points. Only those players who have played in at least one team match during the regular season (as a player or as an alternate) are eligible to compete. The playoff format (excluding the finals) involves 6 players from each club playing at home and on the opponents course simultaneously. Ties are broken by a sudden-death play-off at both courses simultaneously.

Round 1 must be completed by September 29. Round of 16 and Quaterfinals by the end of October and the semifinals by November 10.

The final two teams will meet in the championship match at the McConnell Golf-owned Sedgefield Country Club Dye Course in Greensboro, NC on November 16-17. Four-ball matches will be held on Saturday, November 16 followed by singles matches on Sunday, November 17.
