CGA Announces Four 2015 Internship Opportunities

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- The Carolinas Golf Association announces four paid internship opportunities for 2015. This internship experience involves exposure to all aspects of golf administration including but not limited to: championships, qualifiers and one-day tournaments; handicap and course rating department; communications; membership and general office administration.

The tournament administration aspect may include course marking, course set-up, starting times and pairings, starting, scoring, on-course officiating, pace of play, Rules of Golf, media relations and preliminary office preparation for CGA, TYGA and USGA qualifying events. This will provide a wide-ranging experience for an individual seeking to pursue a career in golf administration. 


Interns perform a variety of functions at tournaments: course set-up, starting and scoring. 

Dates of employment are May 1 - August 31, 2015. Those start/end dates are flexible. Cover letter and resumes should be submitted via email by February 10, 2015. Three internships are financially supported by the USGA P.J. Boatwright intern program and one is funded by the CGA.

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization located in Southern Pines, NC that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals. The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) is the CGA’s junior program for North Carolina.
