Carolinas Golf Night Set for February 9th

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (January 9, 2019) -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced that the 2019 Carolinas Golf Night and CGA Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Forest Lake Club in Columbia, S.C. Registration for the event is now open. Register here.

The CGA Annual Meeting, which covers the order of business as required by the association's bylaws, will take place at 5:30 p.m., prior to Carolinas Golf Night presentations and festivities. Cocktails and appetizers will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner. Carolinas Golf Night presentations will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will honor 2018 CGA champions, 2018 Players of the Year, and special guests. Charlie Rymer, former Golf Channel analyst and professional golfer, will be the guest speaker. Rymer is a native of Fort Mill, S.C. and a former U.S. Junior Amateur Champion, three-time SCGA Junior Champion and CGA South Carolina Junior Champion.

Carolinas Golf Night and the CGA Annual Meeting is open to any individual who is a member or employee of a Carolinas Golf Association member club. Cost for attendance is $50.00 per person and includes cocktails and dinner. Advanced registration is required. Dress is semi-formal. Coat and tie for men; comparable women's wear.

Optional golf will be available at Forest Lake Club on Saturday, February 9th for Carolinas Golf Night attendees only. There will be a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. and cost is $45.00. There will be no formal competition. Participants will register for golf during Golf Night registration.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGA annually conducts 48 championships and five team match competitions for men, women, juniors, and seniors. It also runs over 150 One-Day (net and gross) events as well as qualifying for USGA national championships. The CGA serves golf in the Carolinas with numerous programs such as: the USGA Handicap System; tournament management software and support; course measuring and course/slope ratings; agronomy consultation; answers about the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status, and Handicapping; Carolinas Golf Magazine; Interclub series; Tarheel Youth Golf Association; Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame; expense assistance for USGA Junior and Girls' Junior qualifiers from the Carolinas; and the Carolinas Golf Foundation (CGF). The CGF has distributed nearly $2,000,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
