In last year's championship, Macon Moye of Pinehurst, N.C. captured his first CGA championship title in 20 years; his fourth CGA championship overall. Moye is set to defend his title this year, but he’ll have a strong field to contend with if he’s going to repeat as the N.C. Senior Amateur champion.

Players to Watch:

  • Paul Simson of Raleigh is a nine-time winner of the N.C. Senior Amateur Championship. Simson has 36 CGA championships to his name including the 2019 N.C. Super Senior Four-Ball played earlier this year at Pinewild’s Magnolia Course in Pinehurst, N.C.
  • Russ Perry of Winston-Salem is the reigning Carolinas Super Senior Player of the Year. In total, Perry has claimed six CGA championships including the N.C. Senior Amateur Championship in 2013 at Myers Park Country Club, in Charlotte, N.C. Perry is the reigning N.C. Super Senior Four-Ball champion.
  • Steve Harwell of Mooresville has been on a hot streak lately. Harwell won the Carolinas Senior Four-Ball in April at the Dataw Island Club’s Cotton Dike Course. More recently he won the Coleman Invitational’s  senior division at Seminole Golf Club in June Beach, Florida.
  • James Pearson of Charlotte won this event in 2014 at Kinston Country Club in Kinston, N.C.  Pearson finished in ninth place at last year’s championship.
  • Todd Hendley of Columbus captured his first CGA victory last November at the 57th Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship hosted at the Golf Club at Briar Creek in Johns Island, S.C.  Hendley, a veteran amateur golfer, was also the winner of the 2017 North and South Senior Men's Championship, the 2017 Chanticleer National Senior Invitational and several SCGA events.
  • Harrison Rutter of Winston-Salem is looking for redemption after finishing runner-up to Moye in last year’s championship. Rutter’s sole CGA championship came at the 1978 South Carolina Junior Boys’.
