Reuland Wins the 7th Creed Boys' Invitational

After a final round with tough conditions, Zachary Reuland of Rock Hill, S.C. came out on top shooting two-under-par, 138 total to claim the 7th Creed Boys’ Invitational.
“I wanted to just try and hit solid shots, but not try to fire it at the pin. I knew that you wouldn’t have to hit crazy low today to win,” said Reuland.
Reuland started the final round in a three-way tie for the lead with Carlos Garre of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Randall Hudson of New Bern, N.C. Garre quickly took the lead in the final round with birdies on holes three and five, but he didn’t hold onto the lead for long.
“Well I started out with a bogey, which wasn’t the way I wanted to start out, but I birdied number three and that just gave me some confidence. Then towards the end of the back nine I birdied two of the last three and that just gave me the momentum to take into the back nine,” said Reuland.
Reuland’s two birdies on the front nine were followed by one more on the back nine to secure his first CGA championship at two-under-par, 138 total.
Alex Heffner of Harrisburg, N.C. and Keegan Vaugh of Myrtle Beach, S.C. finished in a tie for second place at one-over-par, 141 total.
Garre finished the championship at two-over-par, 142 total for a solo fourth place finish. This was Garre’s last junior tournament and he will continue his golf career at Wofford College in the fall.
Pake June of Florence, S.C. and Zach Roberts of Holly Springs, N.C. finished at two-over-par, 142 total along with Hudson for a three-way tie in fifth place.
