SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (July 17, 2026) – Ryan Porter and Kaylie Porter of Greensboro, N.C., turned in a dominant performance to capture the 29th Carolinas Parent-Child Championship at the NC Sandhills Area Courses. The father-daughter duo carded an 8-under-par 64 in the modified alternate shot format to claim the overall championship by three strokes.

The Porters combined for a bogey-free round to win Flight A and the overall title, finishing comfortably ahead of Tom Carson and Kathryn Carson of Mooresville and Greenville, N.C., who finished runner-up at 5-under-par 67. Todd Adams and Sara Adams of Whispering Pines, N.C., last year's overall champions, finished third after posting a 4-under-par 68.

Jeff Burcham and Macie Burcham of Greensboro, N.C., four-time Parent-Child champions, tied for fourth at 3-under-par 69 alongside Kevin King and Mary-Paige King of Clemmons, N.C.

Flight champions included:

• Flight A: Ryan Porter and Kaylie Porter (Greensboro, N.C.) – 8-under 64
• Flight B: Paul Chianese and Charlotte Chianese (Clayton, N.C.) – 2-under 70
• Flight C: Hunter Jones and Emma Jones (Advance, N.C.) – 4-over 76
• Flight D: Craig Hill and Mirren Hill (Morrisville and Cary, N.C.) – 20-over 91

The Carolinas Parent-Child Championship continues to celebrate family competition through the unique challenge of modified alternate shot, rewarding teamwork, communication and trust between generations.

The Carolinas Golf Association extends its sincere appreciation to the staffs of Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club, Mid South Club and Quail Ridge Golf Club for hosting the championship and providing an outstanding experience for all competitors and their families.
