Duke GC to host 14th Dogwood State Junior Boys

The Carolinas Golf Association has announced that Duke University Golf Club in Durham, NC will host the 14h Dogwood State Junior Boys' Championship on August 7-9, 2018.  An anticipated field of 144 junior boys will compete on the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Rees Jones designed golf course.

Each year junior golfers from across North Carolina compete in this annual stroke play championship.  Past boy’s champions include Daniel Meggs, Ben Kohles, Michael McGowan, Carter Jenkins and two time champion Fulton Smith.  The champion will be invited to represent the Carolinas in the 2019 Virginias-Carolinas Junior Team Matches.

The beautiful 18-hole championship Duke University Golf Club opened in 1957 and is the only Robert Trent Jones-designed course in the region. Redesigned by Jones’ son Rees in 1994, the Duke University Golf Club was the site of the 2001 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship, and is considered one of the top ten golf courses in North America.  However, more than its famous fairways garner acclaim. The golf club’s state-of-art practice area boasts a driving range, six putting and chipping greens, seven sand bunkers and eight target greens – all surrounded by a grove of tall pines and stately hardwoods.

Registration opens on June 18 at 8 pm and closes on July 23, 2018.
