Bland & Sadowski Go Bogey-Free to Win N.C. Super Senior Four-Ball

Whittier, N.C. (July 23, 2025) – Phil Bland of Sherrills Ford, N.C., and Joey Sadowski of Hickory, N.C., put together an impressive bogey-free 7-under 65 in the final round to back up their opening 5-under 67 (12-under, 132 total) to secure the win at the 8th N.C. Super Senior Four-Ball Championship held at Sequoyah National Golf Club in Whittier, N.C.
Just one shot back at 11-under 133 otal, the team of Gary Hull of Carolina Shores, N.C. and Randall Sullins of Claremont, N.C. posted rounds of 4-under 68 and 7-under 65 to claim second place.
Finishing in a tie for third at 10-under 134 were the teams of Steve Blake and Jim Thompson of Asheville, N.C. (67-67), and Billy Brown of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Danny Sharpe of Greensboro, N.C. (69-65).
Seastrunk and Barton Win 70+ Division
In the 70+ Division, Cliff Seastrunk and Lennie Barton of Raleigh, N.C., fired rounds of 4-under 68 and 2-under 70 (6-under, 138 total) to claim a one-shot victory, capped by a clutch chip-in on their final hole to seal the win.
Finishing runner-up at 5-under 139 were Ed Donlin of Concord, N.C., and Donald Detweiler of Raleigh, N.C., who opened with a 5-under 67 before closing with an even-par 72.
Three teams tied for third at 4-under 140: Lawrence Hicks and J. Lawson of Greensboro, N.C. (67-73), Robert Desjardins and William Boles of Matthews, N.C. and Wilson, N.C. (71-69), and Mark Engelman and Pete Allen of Pinehurst, N.C. and Southport, N.C. (68-72).
Sequoyah National provided a stunning but demanding test, with dramatic elevation changes on nearly every hole, strategically placed bunkers, and challenging multi-tiered greens.
