In a masterclass of consistency and poise, Riley Grimm of Pinehurst claimed her first CGA victory at the 21st Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls’ Championship with a dominant 14-under-par performance at Stonebridge Golf Club.

Grimm, a member of the Class of 2028, set the pace during Saturday’s grueling 36-hole doubleheader. After opening with a steady 2-under 70, she surged in the second round with a 6-under 66. Carrying that momentum into Mother’s Day Sunday, Grimm remained unfazed, carding a final 6-under 66 to finish with a total of 202.

Her four-shot victory came over fellow Pinehurst resident Ira Joshi (Class of 2029), who pressured the lead with a stellar 66 of her own on Sunday. Rounding out the top of the leaderboard, Ella June Hannant (Class of 2027) and Ella Spence (Class of 2029) finished tied for third at 9-under 207.

The field featured many of the Carolinas’ most promising junior girls. Players completed 36 holes on Saturday in cooler, breezy conditions. On Sunday, clear blue skies with the sun blazing in the Monroe area, all groups completed play without interruption.

First held in 2005, the Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls’ Championship is named in honor of longtime CGA volunteer and past president Vicki DiSantis, a champion of junior golf across the Carolinas. The event has grown into one of the CGA’s most prestigious junior championships for girls, offering a competitive and welcoming atmosphere for rising players to shine.

As players posed for photos and hugged their moms, this year’s tournament served as both a celebration of junior golf and a fitting tribute to the families behind the players — especially the moms who help make it all possible.

The Carolinas Golf Association would like to extend its sincere thanks to the staff at Stonebridge Golf Club for their hospitality and support throughout the championship. Special appreciation goes to Nick Jacobi, General Manager, and the entire golf operations, agronomy, and food & beverage teams for their efforts in delivering a top-tier experience for players, families, and spectators alike. Their commitment to junior golf helped make the 21st Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls’ Championship a memorable and meaningful event.
