2 Teams Share Carolinas Four-Ball Lead

CAMDEN, S.C. – First round results of the 64th Carolinas Four-Ball Championship hosted by Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 (6455 yards, par 35-35—70, 71.6/128).

Taylor Ingle of Winnsboro, S.C. -  Brandon Truesdale of Winnsboro, S.C. and Zachary Martin of Pinehurst, N.C. -  John Grimes of Pinehurst, N.C. each fired a six-under 64 to share a one stroke lead after the first round. Ingle carded an incredible  front-nine 28 on his own ball.

Only half of the defending champion team is competing this year. Jonathan Jackson of Chapel Hill, N.C. has partnered with Banks Wood, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C. and posted an even par 70 to stand in a tie for 33rd place. Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington, N.C. was unable to compete due to recovering from surgery this past winter.

The average score in round one was 70.3 with 32 teams breaking par on the challenging Donald Ross design.

The championship format is contested over 36-holes of four-ball stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play.
