U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifying Results
from Bermuda Run Country Club (East) in Advance, NC

ADVANCE, N.C. (May 15, 2018) -- Final results from U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifying at Bermuda Run Country Club's East Course in Advance, N.C. on May 15, 2018 (6400 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope rating: 77.7/141).

Nannette Hill, a professional from Pelham Manor, N.Y. fired a 4-under-par 68 in her second round to propel herself to the top of the leaderboard and take home medalist honors. Hill finished 3-under-par for the tournament, qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open by one stroke. After a three-hole playoff, Britney Yada, a professional from Hilo, H.I. claimed the second qualifying spot. Yada made the only birdie of the three playoff holes to beat out Emilia Migliaccio and claim a qualifying spot. Migliaccio won low amateur honors with rounds of 71-71--142 (-2). The third player in the playoff, Kylie Henry, a professional from Scotland, lost on the second playoff hole and is the second alternate.

Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

Sectional qualifying is conducted over 36 holes at 25 locations around the world. The championship proper will be held at Shoal Creek in Shoal Creek, Ala. on May 31-June 3, 2018.

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGA annually conducts 48 championships and five team match competitions for men, women, juniors, and seniors. It also runs over 150 One-Day (net and gross) events as well as qualifying for USGA national championships. The CGA serves golf in the Carolinas with numerous programs such as: the USGA Handicap System; tournament management software and support; course measuring and course/slope ratings; agronomy consultation; answers about the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status, and Handicapping; Carolinas Golf Magazine; Interclub series; Tarheel Youth Golf Association; Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame; expense assistance for USGA Junior and Girls' Junior qualifiers from the Carolinas; and the Carolinas Golf Foundation (CGF). The CGF has distributed nearly $2,000,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
