GREENVILLE, N.C. (October 26, 2025) – David Quinones of Hampstead, N.C. shot 69 in the final round to launch a comeback to capture the 17th Jimmy Anderson Boys’ Invitational.
Quinones led by a stroke after the first round with a 67, but he was joined by 13 other players in red numbers.
Andrew Jenkins of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Brewer Lael of Newton, N.C. sat one stroke behind Quinones after warding off the morning cold spell for round one.
In the second round, the top of the leaderboard began to crowd when 29 players found their way under par.
Jenkins shot three-under in round two to grab a share of the lead. Griffin Huckabee of Winston-Salem, N.C. shot five-under 65, the lowest 18-hole score of the first two rounds, to join Jenkins at the top after 36 holes.
Round three saw a colder morning and cloudier skies, but the competition remained hot. Keane Taino of Pinehurst, N.C. shot 66 to jump to three-under overall and a tie in third with Henry Holland of Charlotte, N.C., who shot the second 65 of the tournament.
Quinones held on and shot even-par 70 in round two and in round three he went under par for the second time with a 69 to vault ahead of Taino and Warren Stiglitz of Denver, N.C.
