Brenda Corrie Kuehn Nominated to Serve on USGA Executive Committee
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.) -- The Carolinas Golf Association is proud to celebrate one of our own. Brenda Corrie Kuehn, CGA Executive Committee member and nine-time CGA champion, has been nominated to join the USGA Executive Committee beginning in 2026. Her nomination reflects decades of commitment to the game and a career shaped by excellence at every level of golf.
If elected at the USGA Annual Meeting in February, Brenda will begin a three-year term on the 15-person volunteer board that provides strategic and financial oversight for the USGA.
A Playing Career Defined by Consistency and Competitive Fire
Brenda’s path in the game is unmatched in its depth and longevity. A native of the Dominican Republic, she starred at Wake Forest University, where she earned her business degree, captained the women’s golf team and became a three-time All-American. She collected six individual collegiate wins, including the 1986 ACC Championship.
Her competitive accomplishments extend far beyond college. Brenda has played in more than 60 USGA championships, including nine U.S. Women’s Opens. She is a two-time USGA runner-up, finishing second in the 1995 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur and again in the 2023 U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur. She also represented the USA in the 1996 and 1998 Curtis Cup Matches and competed in the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship for both the USA (1996, 1998) and the Dominican Republic (1986, 2018).
In the Carolinas, Brenda has twice earned CGA Woman Golfer of the Year honors while winning major titles such as the Women’s Carolinas Amateur (1998, 2001) and the N.C. Senior Women’s Amateur (2022, 2023).
Her impact has been recognized around the world. She is enshrined in the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame, the NCAA Golf Coaches Hall of Fame, the Dominican Golf Hall of Fame and the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame. She and her father remain the only golfers inducted into the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame.
Leadership Beyond the Course
Brenda’s professional success mirrors her accomplishments inside the ropes. She founded Stateside Services Inc., an international export service company that operated across eight countries. She later stepped in to lead her family’s investment firm, managing the business alongside her sister after their father’s passing.
Her leadership extends across several organizations, including the Corrie Foundation, Las Lagunas Golf Club, Henla Family Office and Valores Leon. Her board experience and business background bring significant perspective to every organization she serves.
A Trusted Voice Within the CGA
As a member of the Carolinas Golf Association Executive Committee, Brenda has been a steady advocate for the growth of junior and women’s golf in our region. Her passion for the game, competitive experience and commitment to mentoring the next generation have made her an influential and valued leader within the CGA.
Her nomination to the USGA Executive Committee is well-deserved and reflects what we already know. Brenda brings integrity, perspective and energy to every role she takes on.
