WEST END, NC -- The Carolinas Golf Association's 45th North Carolina Junior Championship will take place on June 18-21 at Prestonwood Country Club's Highlands Course in Cary, NC.

The championship is contested at match play with an 18-hole stroke-play qualifier to determine seeding for match play. The top 64 boys will advance to match play. Defending champion Carter Jenkins qualified for the web.com Rex Open this week and will be competing in that event.

Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has not reached his 19th birthday by June 22, 2013, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current USGA handicap index® at a CGA member club that does not exceed 18.4.

Prestonwood Country Club opened in 1988 and has played host to the Jimmy V Celebrity Classic and SAS Champions Tour.

143 players have made the field for the 2013 championship. Non-exempt boys gained entry to the field by competing in one of two qualifying tournaments. The qualifying sites for this year’s championship were: Cardinal Country Club, Selma, NC and Jamestown Golf Club in Jamestown, NC.
