17th North Carolina Junior Girls Championship at Bentwinds Country Club in Fuquay-Varina, NC – June 18-21

WEST END, NC -- The Carolinas Golf Association's 17 th North Carolina Junior Girls’ Championship will take place on June 18-21 at Bentwinds CC in Fuquay-Varina, NC.

The NC Junior Girls’ Championship is contested at match play with an 18-hole stroke play qualifier to determine seeding for match play. The top 31 girls will advance to their respective match play rounds. Isabella Rusher of Salisbury, NC is the defending champion and will be seeded number one for match play.

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has not reached her 19th birthday by June 21, 2013, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current USGA handicap index® at a CGA member club that does not exceed 18.4.

39 players have made the field for the 2013 championship.

Bentwinds history dates back to 1965 to Sippahaw Country Club.  By 1980 “Bent-winds” golf course and pro shop were operational and construction was underway of the pool and tennis courts. In 1986, the course name officially became Bentwinds Golf and Country Club and the club celebrated the ground breaking for the clubhouse that stands today.
